Our sorority’s mission since 1908 has been to cultivate and encourage high scholastic and ethical standards, to promote unity and friendship among college women, to study and help alleviate problems concerning girls and women in order to improve their social stature, to maintain a progressive interest in college life, and to be of “Service to All Mankind.”
Iota Omicron Omega Chapter was founded on December 16, 1972. Like a beautiful ivy vine the origins of Alpha Nu and Iota Omicron Omega are lovingly intertwined. Alpha Nu Chapter was chartered in 1959 and initiated both graduated and undergraduate students. Initially the chapter was not based on a college campus. The change came in 1972 with the chartering of Iota Omicron Omega Chapter. Alpha Nu Chapter moved to the campus of California State University - Fresno and Iota Omicron Omega Chapter was established for graduate members (Alumnae).
The chapter has a long history of service to the Fresno and San Joaquin Valley communities. Iota Omicron Omega chapter is committed to working to uplift the community. By loving ourselves, loving each other, and loving our community we are making a difference through service in "Scholarship, Health, and Economics".
